BEING GENEROUS WITH KNOWLEDGE

Last week at the gym, I witnessed a longish exchange between an expert trainer and a young, budding sports enthusiast. The younger person wanted to start training kids between the age 8-14, and was seeking guidance on how to go about it. In response, the experienced trainer gave tips on how to assess their endurance levels, ways to make it fun for the kids, types of exercises to include (even demonstrating some of them), the importance of his own body language when coaching the kids, and above all to experiment and have fun.
I was completely taken by the generosity and enthusiasm in this sharing of knowledge - no holds barred!
I've always been a believer in freely sharing knowledge. If we've put in the years and the work to become masterful at something, it's only fair that we share that depth of knowledge and experience with those who are newer on that path.
Whether it is life lessons, or dance lessons, or a domain like Diversity and Inclusion, and now Coaching, I've always been fortunate to have generous teachers - Gurus - who have shown me the way. And each Guru Purnima, I let them know how much they mean to me.
This Guru Purnima was even more special, because for the first time I truly acknowledged and thanked the Guru residing within me - whose guidance is the reason that I am :)
Coaching is a great way to connect with that inner guidance.
